<description><![CDATA[ <b><font size="4"><font face="Times New Roman">SOUTH SHORE DERMATOLOGY PHYSICIANS, PC, WELCOMES NEW PARTNER & ASSOCIATE</font id="Times New Roman"></font id="size4"></b><br /><br /><font face="Times New Roman"><font size="3">NO. EASTON, MA) – People needing medical, surgical or cosmetic dermatological treatment now have two new options for care at South Shore Dermatology Physicians, PC (SSDP).<br /><br />The 4-year-old No. Easton practice has announced that Katalin “Kate” Kovalszki, MD, has become an SSDP partner, and Amy Chang, MD, has become an SSDP associate in February 2012. The pair are highly regarded physicians with reputations for providing outstanding dermatological care to patients in the region south of Boston. Dr. Chang will become the sixth Board certified dermatologist to join SSDP’s fast-growing practice.<br /><br />An associate physician at SSDP since 2009, Dr. Kovalszki earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and an M.D. degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She completed an internal medicine internship and a dermatology residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center, where she received the “You’re Super” award for Outstanding Patient Care. On the staff of the Good Samaritan Medical Center (GSMC) in Brockton, she was a presenter at the AAD Annual Meeting in 2008 and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the Massachusetts Academy of Dermatology (MAD), and Phi Beta Kappa.<br /><br />Dr. Chang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A graduate of the Tufts University School of Medicine, she did an internal medicine internship at the Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, RI, followed by a 3-year dermatology residency at the Boston University and Tufts University Combined Dermatology Residency Program. After her training, Dr. Chang was immediately recruited by Tufts Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and served as the Associate Residency Program Director. Licensed in Massachusetts and California, she is on the staff of the GSMC in Brockton and the Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Formerly a member of the Association of Professors of Dermatology and American Contact Dermatitis Society, Dr. Chang is a member of the AAD, MAD, and the New England Dermatological Society. <description><![CDATA[ <i>Press Release<br /><br />On Monday night 2-20-12, at approximately 9:05pm, Easton Police Officer Keith Boone arrested Mary Burns (age 47) from 6 Andrews Street in Easton, MA. for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (1st offense). A 911 caller reported Burns’ vehicle was traveling west on Lincoln Street on the wrong side of the road. The caller further stated the vehicle almost struck a utility pole on Lincoln Street.<br /><br />Officer Boone located this vehicle short time later as it was traveling east on Lincoln Street. The vehicle “rolled” through a stop sign at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Main Street. The vehicle was eventually stopped on Sullivan Avenue near Main Street. Subsequent to an investigation, Burns was arrested and charged with 1) OUI alcohol 1st offense, 2) Negligent operation of a motor vehicle, 3) Marked lanes violation and 4) Two counts of Child Endangerment while operating under the influence of alcohol. Burns was charged with child endangerment because she was operating the vehicle with two thirteen year old children as passengers. Burns was transported to the Easton police station for the booking process. At approximately 12:05am, Burns was released from custody after posting a bail fee of $140. If the facility cannot self sustain, they should look into selling it, other historic structures have been sold and preserved with great success in town. If the real reason behind public funding is to preserve the building, privatization can do a far better and immediate job of it, not to mention the additional tax revenue.
